During our OLCC journey we have repeatedly been reminded that people are not broken. The client comes to us a whole, perfect individual and does not need fixing.
I love this.
It is now part of the list of things I will remind myself each time I prepare to meet with a client. Seeing someone as already whole is so critical to how we approach the client relationship. The focus should be on the client understanding their strengths and weaknesses. When they are at their best, and when they might tend to fall into some performance traps or barriers. This is not the same as “fixing” someone. Rather, it is simply leveraging what they are already capable of for the outcomes they want.
